Welcome to Springdale, it is really a magical place……and trouble seems to be around the corner. But what is the cause of all this trouble, it can only be Yo-Kai! On the 29th of September Nintendo released the new Yo-Kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters and with it a whole boatload of new content to explore. But wait, wasn’t there a Yo-Kai Watch 2 already? Well yes, there was Yo-Kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls(if you have them you can actually use there saved data in Psychic Specters). Yo-Kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters is basically the combination of the two other Yo-Kai Watch 2 games. In the game, you play as Nate or Katie and some wicked Yo-Kai came and took your Yo-Kai Watch. This entails that you completely forget that you ever had a Yo-Kai Watch and you never remembering meeting all the awesome Yo-Kai’s.

But as luck have it(and maybe Karma, the Universe…we never know) you get your Yo-Kai Watch back and start to find out why you lost your watch and your memories. You even get to go back in time and find out where the Yo-Kai Watch came from. If you played the first Yo-Kai Watch game you will feel a bit of deja vu as a lot of the characters and the way you meet them in the first game is the same in Yo-Kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters. For new players to the game, this won’t be a problem and most of us that have played the first one won’t mind the replaying too much.

A new feature in Psychic Specters is that you can now defriend Boss Yo-Kai’s instead of fighting them! It might take you a while to get to there level, but it would be so worth it. You can also now also play up to 4 players to take on boss fights in the new Psychic Blasters mode. You get to choose between a tank, fighter, healer and range(feels almost MOBA a bit). Together you take on Special Boss Yo-Kai Battles and collect Yo-Kai Medals. This mode gets even better boss fights if a friend has Bony Spirits or Fleshy Souls!

Yo-Kai Watch 2 Psychic Specters is really worth the money as it gives you a metric-ton(even a new tribe of Wicked Yo-Kai) more Yo-Kai than the first game, there is a little bit of grinding(if you played the first game) but there are rewards therein for you. Overall I am really pleased with the game, it does feel a bit better than the original game. I would Recommend Psychic Specters to any Yo-Kai fan and to gamers that played the first one. This is your local mad scientist signing out….
