It is here!
Pre-Patch download has begun through the Battle.net client for all World of Warcraft game owners. I must be honest, I am not very sure whether it applies only to those who have pre-ordered the World of Warcraft Legion Expansion or if it is available to all players. If I refer to the past, it should theoretically be for everyone that has WoW installed.
This morning when I opened up my client, I noticed a little green download icon next to my big blue play button. When I moused over, it revealed the message “An update for the game is downloading in advance so it will be ready on patch day” with a staggering size of 20.15GB!
What this generally means for us World of Warcraft players is, that the Legion game data is being pre-downloaded. For all the pre-order subscribers, this means that you will get your early access shortly, where you can finally head into Legion to try out the new Demon Hunter class before everyone else! Because it is such a massive download, I recommend you leave your Battle.net client open overnight when the South African bandwidth pipelines open up and remove the 100kbps restriction that your downloader automatically applies to the pre-patch data.
If you have not pre-ordered World of Warcraft Legion yet, do so chop-chop, it is sure to fix what MoP (Mists of Pandaria) broke…
