If you’re looking for a Vampire RPG then look no further. Vampire’s Fall: Origins is an open world RPG with tactical combat. Choose your lineage and build up your bloodline.
You start off the game by creating your character, choosing your looks and some basic stuff like weapon proficiency and lineage. You will begin in a village called Vamp’Ire which is quite peaceful but a Witchmaster is on the prowl and fate will have something special in store for you.
After learning how the game works you will start journeying into the world. As with most RPG games, you can talk to a lot of people and some will provide you with side quests. It is up to you to decide if you want to help people or if you don’t. Theirs is a bit of a good/bad balance that happens where your actions can also determine how certain people react to you.
The gameplay works great for the Switch and the controls fit well. The tactical combat is done well, it has a side platform type view and characters take turns performing an action. In the beginning it is quite important to choose your battles as some you won’t be able to until you grow stronger.
There are over 150 different types of weapons and armour in the game. The inventory system is great along with a carry weight element that affects what you can carry and equip. As you level up you can spend points on abilities, skills and proficiencies. Deciding what type of character you want to grow into is key. There are a lot of options for you to choose and for you to create something unique.
Once you feel that your character is on a level to take on others, you can partake in PVP battles. There are Clan Wars and community tournaments to take part in, but you are not forced to.
The game looks visually stunning, it has a dark sketch type feel and the look of characters and monsters fit the theme of the game to a tee.
Vampire’s Fall: Origins is a great little game that provides you with hours of gameplay for a very small price. It has a great story and let’s face it, it has Vampires, sold! Definitely worth a look for fans of RPG style games.
