Valerian and the city of a thousand Planets is nothing less than a visual masterpiece based on a French comic around the adventures of agent Valerian in space. This was one of the most highly anticipated movies in 2017 for me after seeing the trailer. If the opening sequence is anything to go by, I can easily say its visual storytelling one of the best I have seen but the film manages to maintain this element to its plot throughout the movie.

In the 28th century, special operatives Valerian and Laureline played by Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne respectively, work together to maintain order throughout the human territories. Under assignment from the minister of defense, the duo embarks on a mission to Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis where diverse species gather to share knowledge and culture. When a dark force threatens the peaceful city, Valerian and Laureline must race against time to identify the menace that also jeopardizes the future of the universe.

The movie captures the same cult greatness as Fifth Element and I hope unlike Fifth Element it continues the franchise with multiple additions to this movie franchise.  It’s a fun space adventure with memorable characters and settings.
