Just a brief disclaimer before I start my review, is that I am a fan of the franchise. I have followed the franchise and shamefully purchased the PS2 game when it released… so there.
Just like the recently released Resident Evil movie, this movie serves the same purpose of closure for the original fan base. If you take it for that purpose you will get exactly what you expect as this is not a reimagining or supposed to spin off into anything else but just a movie for the fans.
I did not expect anything to be different except for a continuation of the story with some new elements ultimately drawing the franchise to a closure.
Leather clad death dealer Selene (Kate Beckinsale) is back again and must fend off the constant attacks from both Lycan and Vampire. She is no longer a part of their war but none the less is drawn into it once again as both sides hunt her for their own agendas. She decides to embark on a quest to end the eternal war between the two supernatural forces.
The franchise may have taken far too long to draw to a close and obviously this movie was never expected to be the best in the franchise but its honestly just mindless fun. Even though I lost interest over the years I still wanted to watch it. This one will appeal to most of the fans of the Underworld movies.
