A wired headset that uses batteries. That is rather odd wouldn’t you say. Well truth is it is odd but actually it makes sense. The addition of the batteries gives this headset the extra oomph it needs. But let’s dig in deeper and see if these headies are all that

Turtle beach has gone with a nice carbon look on this headset. The headset is well built and pretty solid. The flip down mic is also good quality and does not feel flimsy or shaky. The earcups are nice and big and sit comfortably on your ears with not much pressure so you can endure longer sessions. The faux leather does get a bit sweaty with long gaming sessions, a cloth option would have been nice but that’s just my personal preference

The sound quality is really solid on these. You get a nice deep base when the batteries are fully charged and crisp high notes. It does however fall a bit short when the batteries are dead and you pick up some distortion at high volumes, but this should never happen if you just keep them charged. The battery is rated to last 12 hours and I got about 10 hours off a single charge, but it also depends on what you are listening to and at what volume

The mic delivers clear voice so your teammates will always be able to hear you. The mic does however need a bit of tweaking in the settings as it does easily pick up background noises. The mic can be folded up and out of your face for when it is not required because you don’t want to look like a pilot when playing single player games.

Overall this is a really solid headset and falls right in the mid tier when it comes to pricing. It delivers great sound sits comfortably and has a good mic. The battery is as I said earlier a bit odd as you would sometimes forget to charge it as your mind thinks a wired headset does not need charging.
