An epic single player exploration-adventure game that is no doubt one of favourite survival games on the market at the moment.

The premise is pretty simple; Earth has been destroyed by aliens and you are the sole survivor of the human race and you need to find out if the planet you crash landed on is able to sustain human life, which was originally the research that was being done. That is literally the basic premise of this game, think Sub Nautica with a story and less water. The last attempt to get the human race kick started is called; The Solus Project.

Initially, the game seems very confusing, you crash land on a planet and you are just thrown into this new world with very little instruction, other than picking up a cellphone type tool that tracks you vital signs; Calories, hydration, temperature and more. Straight away you notice that the controls are very similar to every other FPS out there, very basic, however very basic level of instruction is given on the controls other than when you actually have to interact with objects. Other things such as menus as the purpose of them are a on a self-discovery basis.

Graphically, this game is something to behold. The finishing is outstanding and very little pixilation is noticed on edges of trees and distant objects, which you would normally find with these open world type games. The colours are outstanding, they blend perfectly with the “alien theme” they are going for. The sky is by far my favourite part of this entire games’ visual, the stars in the night sky, the planets and moons that are floating around out there are simply beautiful!

This game definitely has a replay-ability about it. The story is slow but what it lacks in the story department it makes up in other areas. The overall concept of this game is pure genius, that being said I am still having fun with this game and I have barely made it half way through the story as yet! A proper game that will keep you engaged and wondering what comes next.
