Stronghold: Warlords Review

Strategize by not just the means of going at war with one another, gain powerful allies through force or diplomacy to help conquer the enemies.

If this tickles your fancy, then Stronghold Warlords are meant for you to play.

This real-time strategy game not only allows one to build your base and raid others, but there are neutral warlords which can be captured to provide you with either a military boost, stock boost, additional diplomacy points, and the list goes on with each type of boost being indicated by an icon ranging from an ox to a tiger and even a dragon, if you are intrigued with the Dynasty era then you are in luck as 5 Dynasties are covered in the campaign which has an added twist to each, some chapters will remove certain functionalities of the game as a way to introduce you to the full gameplay without the feeling of being overwhelmed with the various amount of controls and possibilities.

Enjoying the building part of the game and just feel like creating your ideal village? Stronghold Warlords allows you to do this with a Free Build mode where you select your map and enjoy the more peaceful part of the game.

Other than this there is your traditional deathmatch multiplayer where you can either host a lobby as public lobby or keep it closed for your friends only.

Change your tax rates, food portions, select from several different types of houses, build temples, Zen Gardens, and much more to affect your population, of course, this game would also not be completed if it had to leave out natural disasters such as fires, thunderstorms and even flu which affect your livestock, all of these play a factor on if your citizens would stay with you or walk away leaving you with fewer soldiers to recruit and fewer workers to help with producing weapons or collecting resources.

Final Thoughts: The game initially gave the impression of being overwhelming with the vast amount of factors, but the campaign really helped easing me into the game without having all the controls and functionalities available to me, perfect game to just sit back and relax with after a long day at work

Lover of MOBAs and FPS type games, very competitive type player who enjoys games that also has some complexity added to them, would spend hours on end farming on a game such as Warframe, BDO, Elite Dangerous or any other game in that line.
