With Jamie Foxx on the cover of this DVD you would be expecting a non stop action thrill ride and with a premise of a cop trying to recover his kidnapped son, I was hooked on the notion of another movie like Taken. I was really engaged from the start and Sleepless sticks out in this year’s line-up of movie releases.

Jamie Foxx plays Vincent Downs an undercover Las Vegas police officer cop with a connection to the criminal underworld. Who finds himself caught in a high-stakes web of corrupt cops, internal affairs and murderous gangsters. When a failed heist leads to the kidnapping of his teenage son (Octavius J. Johnson), Downs must race against time during a wild and restless night to save him and bring the criminals to justice.

As expected the movie is an intense action rollercoaster, its opening scene really draws you into the world. It makes you doubt everything and is never predictable. Not as gritty as I expected but still delivered the intrigue and plot twists needed to carry the movie to the end. Jamie Foxx is undoubtedly a strong actor and delivers a good solid performance.
