Razer DeathStalker V2 Review

Razer has released what is probably one of their best keyboards in 2022. The Deathstalker V2!

Razer’s keyboards have always been a standard across high-end gaming and the release of the Deathstalker V2 is no different.

Coming in with a seriously low-profile keyboard the Deathstalker V2 stands out from normal mechanical keyboards, it also uses optical switches instead of anything mechanical.  Objectively, optical switches are better than their mechanical counterparts because they respond faster and last longer, but some people may feel that they don’t feel quite as good to type on, With Razer’s low-profile optical switches, that point is canceled out, they offer near-instant, fast, and quiet keypresses.

The actuation point is a mere 1.2mm, with a full travel distance of 2.8mm.  The slim profile keyboards have become increasingly more in demand as people want a similar look to laptop keyboards and they have that feel as if they type faster due to shorter travel between keystrokes. Razer has perfected this.

The keyboard also comes with media tools on the top right-hand corner of the keyboard itself, This, for me personally is something that is at the top of my must-have list when deciding when to buy a new keyboard,  The media button lets you pause, and skip soundtracks, while the media roller lets you control the volume and mute functions. If you’ve never used a keyboard with this before its not a must, but i can promise you its a game changer, Razer spoilt me with these features back on the Lycosa Mirror Edition back in 2008, This admittedly was my first ever piece of razer gear along with the Deathadder (2006) model I picked up shortly after.

Final Thoughts: Razer has really outdone themselves with the release of the Deathstalker V2 and V2 Pro. Everything from the build quality, to the keycaps to the Media keys they’ve added both look and feel great.
