What happens when you love your Razer Kraken V3 but want some freedom of movement? This is where you can look at the Razer Kraken V3 Pro. The Kraken V3 Pro is the bigger brother of the Kraken V3 range of Headphones, basically, if this was a game then this would be the ultimate collectors edition of the Kraken V3’s!
The Razer Kraken V3 Pro has all the features of the Razer Kraken V3 HyperSense (Check out our review for the HyperSense version), and with some Techno-magic they even made it wireless. This is all thanks to Razer’s HyperSpeed technology, not only can you use the one HyperSense dongle with your headphones but you can even add your HyperSense-enabled gaming mouse! This makes it possible for the Kraken V3 Pro to be used not just on your PC or Mac but on your consoles as well (and to some extent your mobile device).
With the Kraken being a Wireless unit we have to look at the time between charges that you can use the unit. I got about 10-12 hours out of the Kraken when I turned the HyperSense and Razer Chroma, which is OK in my books. When you turn the HyperSense and Chroma I got a good 2 days out of the Kraken(this was kept on during the day while I was not home), I even got it a bit longer (wonders what an off switch does) by using it only at night when I got back from work(yes I have a day job). As I mention previously in my HyperSense review, you don’t always want to use it as it can get a bit to much however it does add some depth to movies, music
A nice feature that I discovered while playing around with the Kraken was that you can use the power button to play, pause, skip or select the previous track! Yes, I should have read the manual before I did the review (was too excited to test the unit) then I would have seen this.
Overall I was really please with the Razer Kraken V3 Pro, it has everything that was excellent from the Kraken V3 Hypersense with the added benefit of wireless tech. What is really great about the Kraken V3 Pro is that I could actually use the unit with my PS5. It has ok battery performance when you have RGB and the HyperSense activated, but when you switch off the RGB and HyperSense you have a great set of headphones for work and play. The Razer Kraken V3 Pro does cost a bit more than its smaller/younger brother (the Kraken V3 HyperSense), coming in at R3799 MSRP. This might be a bit much for some gamers for just wireless and haptic feedback. However, I do think that it is a worthwhile investment as an overall working headphone that can be used for gaming and work-life (thanks to its excellent Hyperclear SuperCardioid microphone).
