Originally released and developed for the Nintendo 3DS console, this release of Resident Evil soon made such great impressions that it was remastered twice. First an HD version in 2013 and now for the current generation consoles in 2017.

This graphical remake looks great and although you can see that the game wasn’t developed for the current generation, it does an excellent job still delivering for a five-year-old game. Now the game has 1080p HD graphics and the controls also feel more stable, although still nothing compared to today’s games mechanics.

Revelations was originally released between Resident Evil 5 and 6 but the story takes place between 4 and 5, these games were really focused on over the top action and the element that made the series famous was missing. Survival Horror was the genre that the Resident Evil games are known for and what made them the great series they are now and therefore Resident Evil Revelations was introduced.

Resident Evil Revelations was one of the remarkable stories and games of the series and Resi fans that has missed out on this title now has a terrific opportunity to play this game on current gen glory.

The game has an online/multiplayer mode called Raid mode, one or two players can select from numerous characters and take on 40 bite-sized co-op stages. These levels mostly must be unlocked by playing the campaign, but you can play any level the host player has unlocked as well. Xbox One even gets a new extra-challenging level, The Ghost Ship: Chaos.

Not only are the Raid mode levels highly replayable, they award players with a currency called BP. This can be spent on a huge arsenal of weapons and upgrades in the Raid mode store. Buying and finding weapons and upgrades is a lot of fun, and works together perfectly with the goal of S-ranking every Raid level.

Resident Evil Revelations is definitely a game that needs to be on your play list if you love the genre and is a fan of the series, it is one of the titles that has a good balance between the action and horror style. Also R389 for the game is not a bad price point.
