Razer has brought out a new (more budget friendly) Blackwidow mechanical keyboard. So what does this new Blackwidow have that will make you want to buy it, well for starters it’s RRP(recommended retail price) is R1999.

The new Blackwidow is made to be a cheaper version of the Elite that everybody has come to love. For instance on the Blackwidow Elite you get Green, Orange and Yellow Razer mechanical switches where as on the Blackwidow 2019 you only get the Razer Green switches. Another feature that has been taken away is the dedicated media keys, you can still access the play buttons on the 2019 edition of the Blackwidow with the function key. The 2019 Blackwidow also doesn’t feature USB and Audio passthrough and is also missing the nice and plush leatherette wrist rest.

But even with all of that missing you still looking at a pretty fine mechanical keyboard. The 2019 Blackwidow’s keys are fully customizable and also has the same Hybrid on-board memory and cloud storage as the Blackwidow Elite. It features also some cable management features and has a decent weight to the keyboard.

Overall I am pleased with the 2019 Razer Blackwidow, it really does what it says on the box. I would recommend this to any gamer looking to upgrade too a new mechanical keyboard as you can never really make a wrong decision buying a Razer Blackwidow keyboard. This is your local mad scientist signing out…
