Want to become a super hero and join the Galactic Rangers? Well this is the game for you.

Ratchet & Clank is back or should I say here for the first time again. The game is a remake of the first Ratchet & Clank game but although it is a remake they have included elements from other games in the series to improve it like weapon upgrades and strafing.

Ratchet is a young but compassionate and adventurous Lombax. He seeks adventure and a purpose to do great things. Joining the Galactic Rangers is a dream he has always had but Captain Qwark seems to feel threatened by this little one and refuses to allow him to join the team.

Clank is created for the sole purpose to destroy but he comes out as a defect and needs to be eliminated, so he decides to run for his life and is found by Ratchet. The two become the best of friends and embark on a mission to save their universe.

As I said above the game is ideally a reboot from the first Ratchet and Clank that came out on the PS2 back in 2002 but they did a great job making it new for the current-gen PS4 console. The graphics are exceptional but please make sure you have a high resolution television because the graphics are crazy good and without it the images will seem a bit dark. The game runs at 1080 resolution but only at 30fps, the developers uses heavy motion blur to make up for the frame rate and you will most likely not pick up on it.

The story line is epic and your missions are fun and exciting. Learning to use the controls are easy and the more you hone your mad skills the better and faster your progress will be. You have a few side missions which are done for the fun of it, but some can help you access a few extra skills, weapons or experiences.

With the release of this re-imagined re-make they also brought out the first Ratchet & Clank Movie, the movie was released with the game and the two developing companies spend a lot of time with each other to make sure that the two compare as much as possible to each other. Some have even said that the game is like playing a Pixar movie.

The game does lack a split screen mode that was added to games later in the series but you can also understand why they didn’t include this because of the movie/game similarities.

With the release the game smashed the charts and some records, becoming the best seller in the series and also the only title to be no 1 in the release week.

Fans will Love this remake and newcomers will enjoy it just as much, they have put a lot of effort in this re-released title and can be seen as not a remake but a reboot instead, bringing Ratchet & Clank to the new age.
