FC 25 surprised us and ignited our excitement for the latest installment of EA Sports’ most addictive game. Our personal favorites are the player career and manager career modes, which now offer more depth with season contracts and constant communication with fans and agents to secure the best deals and achieve your goals for your chosen team.

The graphics are stunning for a sports game, with fluid dribbling and seamless passing. However, the rain effects could use some improvement, as the rain isn’t visible falling from the sky, though the pitch appears wet during cutscenes. Despite our nitpicking, this was the only flaw we found.

The dynamic camera cutscenes provide a refreshing experience, replacing the repetitive cutscenes when scoring or missing a goal. Initially, there were issues with players not getting injured or missing more than a season when injured, but EA has since patched these problems, and we haven’t encountered any issues since.

In Pro mode, you can choose to be a rookie, a returning legend, a current player, and more. In Manager mode, you can either take control of an existing club or create your own, with more depth than previous versions, from coaching and player styles to strategy differences and focus goals. You can even create your own team, which you can either get fired from or lead from lower leagues to the top league in the country.
Missing practice affects whether you start the next game or become a reserve/substitute. This, along with match goals, determines your growth with the club and sets expectations for each match.

You also have the flexibility to choose how you want to play the game: as your own player, as the team, or just the highlight moments. This versatility allows you to be in complete control or quickly play a match before bed, offering something for everyone in this iteration of the game.

Final Thoughts: FC 25 is a significant improvement over previous versions, making it worth considering whether to spend R1200 on the updated game. This year, we confidently say YES! Other than the rain not being visible during gameplay, there’s little to criticize.
