The new game from Polyarc, Moss is an adventure waiting to happen through your VR headset. Polyarc is a new company formed from old Bungie employees and after playing Moss, I cannot wait to see what they come up with next.

Moss is a VR puzzle adventure game and instead of you being the main player, in this case Quill the Mouse, you are a “being” and in this game you are called the reader. This means that you control Quill via the DualShock 4 controller as like any other adventure game but what makes it unique is that you can look around using the VR headset, this gives you so much more control and freedom to look at things in a stage. Just think of it, trying to look around corner to see if there is anything special or dangerous there or just getting that perfect angle to get your jump right.

The game feels completely fresh even though it has a lot of things we have seen before. Just the aspect of how your view works and how the world interacts to it blew my mind. The game also doesn’t give you motion sickness, rather it might give the person watching the TV some motion sickness.

The game looks beautiful as well with a rich environment and a story that keeps you wanting to find out more. At the start of the game, you get to a point where you think to yourself, can this game start already? Then when it starts you just get drawn in and forget about everything around you. My Wife started playing and before she could even take of the VR for a break she was down 2 hours into the game.

Moss is and exciting turn for VR games and I for one have high hopes for Polyarc and what they will bring us next. We need some new intuition going into VR as to not make it just a gimmick. If you own VR then you must try out Moss, a brilliant game to get the brain juices flowing with some visual ecstasy.
