Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions – Wow, what a mouth full – is the latest Mario game to feature on the 3DS consoles, it has the same game style and type of the previous Mario & Luigi game series.

It is an action RPG adventure with a turn-based combat element and the Bowser’s Minion piece almost plays like tower defence without towers or defences, if that makes sense. Only after I started playing did I learn that the game is actually an enhanced remake of the 2003 game.

There are quite a few changes from the remake like the Bowser’s Minions Quest and then additions and fixes that were done in previous titles leading up to Paper Jam is included in this remake. The remake also adds support for amiibo and you can use any of these: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Toad, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Boo, Goomba, and Koopa Troopa.

The Mario & Luigi game series is an awesome series to play some relaxed style gaming where you do not have to keep your eyes glued to the console screen and can chill while doing other stuff. The Superstar Saga remake comes at a good time where Paper Jam for me put some life back into the series but I would like to see a title come out on the Switch console now as that would take the series to a whole new level.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions is a cool addition to have on your 3DS system and will keep you busy for some time. Perfect for gamers who like Turn-based games.
