We all know that sound is very important to a person in general. In terms of gaming, whether it be casual or competitive, it’s even more important to have a good headset to be able to satisfy the needs of the gamer as well as the demands of the game being played. The Logitech G633 Artemis Spectrum meets these demands in more ways than I initially expected.
The G633 Artemis Spectrum has impressed me with it’s sound performance. I tested the sound quality listening to some of Hans Zimmer’s scores and was impressed at how I was able to enjoy the full orchestra without missing an instrument. The headset offers 7.1 Dolby or DTS Headphone-X Surround Sound with Pro-G drivers to deliver clear sound quality and to help immerse you into your game. The frequency response is 20Hz – 20kHz, which is the range that the human ear is able to detect and process. The shape of the earphones are square; a closed over-ear style, with detachable ear-cushions made from soft and breathable sports material, which can be washed.
The earphones fit comfortably around the ears and did not give me any form of discomfort over hours of playing, despite it being slightly heavier than what I am used to, with a weight of 374 grams. There is also a foldable boom mic tucked away in the left earphone with a frequency response of 100Hz-20KHz. I was impressed as I listened to a playback of my own voice to find how effective it’s noise-reduction and clarity was. And as usual, the headset is adjustable to fit a wide range of different sizes of heads.
I really enjoyed how customisable this headset is. You are able to choose from a spectrum 16.8 million colours and select the best glow pattern for your rig. There are two lighting zones: The logo and light strip. Each zone can even have a custom colour or light effect applied to it and can be synchronised. The boom mic also has an indicator LED so you know when your microphone is on mute. The headset also offers 3 programmable G-keys and volume control on the left earphone. The G-keys can be customized to enhance gaming experience by setting them to in-game macros for instant command combinations, or to control your music and audio profiles without leaving the game, and it worked every time I used them. And speaking of sound profiles, you can listen to music, both in-game and general, with preset audio preferences. By installing the Logitech Gaming Software, you can use it to program the audio equalizer, to customise audio settings for music and for every genre of game in your library.
And if that hasn’t gotten your jaw to drop yet, this headset has Multi-Platform Compatibility, meaning it’s a headset for all game-platforms! It can go wherever you want to go. It works on PC, Mobile, and Game Consoles; including PS4™ and Xbox One™. The headset comes with a 3.5mm audio cable and a USB-cable, which can connect and disconnect from the headset as you please. You can even have audio playing from two devices at the same time through the headset! If you have it plugged in to your PC and you want to listen to music on your phone, just connect the 3.5mm audio cable and you can have sound playing from both devices at the same time. I couldn’t believe it when I first tried it out!
This headset has greatly surpassed my expectations and has allowed me to experience music and gaming the way I love it. Great sound quality and clarity. This headset receives the biggest thumbs up this reviewer can give it.
