So you are in the market for a new TKL mechanical gaming keyboard? Look no further than Logitech’s G413 TKL SE mechanical gaming keyboard. It’s a TKL that is made for one thing and one thing only, being a mechanical gaming keyboard. The G413 TKL SE has a nice hefty weight to it thanks to the 5052 aluminium base plate, this makes it also very sturdy and will be able to take a really good thrashing after losing to that one cheater or missing that jump point the 100th time. So after trying to smash this keyboard(first won’t recommend it) the keycaps on the G413 TKL SE are made of some very strong material, the industry-standard PBT caps, so there is no way that you would be able to break the keyboard.
The whole feel of the G413 TKL SE is a minimalist design, where you can see the fact that there isn’t any RGB on this keyboard and no braided cables. It does have white LED backlighting and thanks to the onboard memory you can set about 4-5 LED effects with the FN key and chance the intensity of the LED. the G413 TKL SE also has media keys but this again is not dedicated keys and you have to remember to use the FN key to use this feature. What I liked about the G413 TKL SE is the mechanical switches that they used with the keyboard, for me it had just the right amount of click. What I mean by this is that you won’t be waking your partner(in this case my wife) at 12 in the evening while playing games!
When I was paying some NFS and even overwatch I didn’t detect any ghosting on the keyboard and my movements were precise, compared to some other keyboards that I had previously. Also when you open the box for the G413 TKL SE there isn’t much in the box, you get the keyboard and a small user documentation pamphlet.
Overall I was very pleased with the Logitech G413 TKL SE, it really is made as just a gaming keyboard. The mechanical switches are not too clicky for me. Typing wasn’t a problem at all on the G413 TKL SE and when playing games it does precisely what it was made for. I would have liked that they at least have a USB passthought to make cable management a bit better. However, at the MSRP of R1499, it is really not that bad and put’s it near the cheapest TKL keyboard on the market but at a way better performance for the price. For the price, it even has a 2-year hardware warranty! The Logitech G413 TKL SE is made to be a robust no extra gimmicks TKL gaming keyboard and it does it with flying colours!
