Killsquad Review

Unleash hell on a coop A-RPG where bounty hunters raid planets for glory. Choose your quest on the Online Contract System. Unlock skills mid-mission to adapt. Wreak havoc with unique weapons. Scavenge materials to boost them. And, if you survive, spend your bounty on gear to live another day.

The galaxy in Killsquad is in chaos. Civilisations have been wiped out and many planets are wastelands, home only to terrible monsters and hordes of bloodthirsty aliens. From what remains of humanity, a few mega-corporations managed to survive and, even in the post-apocalypse, their number one priority is getting rich quick. That’s where your group in Killsquad enters. You play as one of four bounty hunters who ransack these dangerous planets on behalf of your corporate clients, fending off the monstrous entities that await you on the surface.

Killsquad looks like an RPG but plays like an action game. This creates a unique game-play style you can enjoy with a keyboard or gamepad. The focus is on short, adrenaline pumping missions you can enjoy solo or 4 player coop. Killsquad immediately reminds me of Diablo Gameplay with a hint of Starcraft characters/enemies in it. It’s a top down, co-op action RPG where you run missions with your friends as possibly psychotic bounty hunters always on the hunt for bigger and better weapons and gear. It’s got a Diablo-style isometric view, but with a colorful sci-fi setting and tons of fast action and dodge-rolling. Progression in this game is based on doing contracts and then getting rewards which you’ll spend upgrading your gear score(Vector level) which lets you do more difficult contracts.

The game is amazingly polished for an early access build and I’m really happy on the direction they are going with this, Every hero feels very unique and their skill-sets are amazing, There’s a great variety of enemies and you can upgrade every character simultaneously so you don’t need to physically progress with every single hero if you want to swap on the fly. Overall i’m excited for the future of Killsquad.
