The Iron Throne arrives in Sandton City

Calling all Game of Thrones fans, don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sit on the actual Iron Throne, flown in all the way from the King’Landing.

Taking place at Sandton City shopping centre, in the Upper Woolworths Court from 24-29 September.

Take an epic selfie, just remember to #EdgeofSeat to be included to win awesome prizes from @MNet. It was a wait in line today however totally worth it. You can sit on the Throne, take a picture and the organisers had cool accessories to help you enhance the experience, such as crowns, shields, gauntlets and other regal attire. The seat was actually very comfortable and not as shabby as I predicted.

Proudly brought to you by M-Net channel 101, Sandton City shopping centre and OUTsurance – you always get something out. Season 5 premiers next year in April.

(In Game of Thrones, the Iron Throne was constructed by Aegon I Targaryen, the first king of the Seven Kingdoms, who, legend has it, made it from the swords surrendered by his enemies. The swords were melted down by the fiery breath of Aegon’s dragon, Balerion the Black Dread, then beaten and bent into a throne of imposing appearance.)
