Last week we were treated to the first announcement and trailer for Injustice 2. With the first game being well received, the sequel from Netherrealm Studios – best known for their Mortal Kombat series of games – looks set to expand build on the game and provide fans with a greater experience. The first gameplay trailer released at E3 gives us a hint of what to expect.
Not only does the playable roster look set to be the largerest yet in a DC Comics console game, including the ability to customise each character to your liking as the game progresses, but environments have been increased in scale and scope as well. Look for classic locations like Gotham, Metropolis, Atlantis and more to get an overhaul.
Not only do Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Flash and more return; but the first gameplay trailer has given us our first look at new heroes and villains like Supergirl, Black Manta, Gorilla Grodd and Atrocitus, complete with Dex-Starr (everyone’s favorite Red Lantern kitty cat) in what looks like the pre-fight animation. One can only hope if Atrocitus is included, other fan favorite lantern corps heavy hitters will appear too like Agent Orange himself: Larfleeze, Star Sapphire: Carol Ferris, Blue Lantern: Saint Walker and maybe even Black Hand to represent the feared Black Lanterns. One can only hope.
The action looks great and Super Moves look awesome too. We’ve seen glimpses of some Super Moves too. Atrocitus’ Super Move looks to feature the Red Lantern entity known as the Butcher and Aquaman’s Super Move looks breath taking, amazing and the most fun so far. I can see many players choosing Aquaman just to trounce opponents with that attack.
You too can see all this in the gameplay trailer below.
