I have always enjoyed a good game of golf, regardless of whether it is a mashy course, 18 holes or a fun game of minigolf.
Inifinte minigolf is no different. This game provides you with all the fun and grey hairs you can hope for. Your competitive streak will come through in your game play and you will not want to stop playing… ever.
Your avatar is fully customizable and you even get outfits as you play and gain first place in all your tournaments. As you progress through the game you will unlock more items/clothing/accessories to buy and equip. All these items don’t effect skills or attributes as the game doesn’t use any type of system like that, it is only pure skill and enjoyment.
The game locks you in, in a sense, when you did not complete a stage with first place. You are basically forced to play the level over until you have received the first-place trophy and only then will you be able to move on to the next course. This occurs in the tournament gameplay. There are different modes for the different themes. You can do quick play, which allows you to play courses from other players, tournament which will allow you to progress through the proper courses and try and earn that first-place trophy and more.
The standard three themes that come with the game have different courses and difficulty levels, each accompanied with their own handicaps and tricks, and sometimes the lack there of. You will encounter some well-known fairy-tale characters who, if you play your course correctly, will be able to help you achieve that “hole-in-one” status.
Multiplayer is for both online and local “couch” play, which is an awesome option as sometime you just want to have fun with your significant other. You can also create courses with the editor and user-created courses are cross-platform, meaning that it doesn’t matter on what platform you created your course it can be played on any.
Infinite Minigolf is an amazing little Title and one that needs to be part of everyone’s library, I hope that they have some great plans to expand on the game as well and bring through some more content as well.
