Hyrule Warriors Legends is port but also a remake of Hyrule Warriors. Legends will be released on the 3DS system and will feature new playable characters and some mechanical features.

Hyrule Warriors Legends takes place in the Legend of Zelda universe but the gameplay is similar to that of Dynasty Warriors. If you haven’t played any Dynasty Warriors games before the genre is an Action Hack and Slash but with a difference. You usually have a whole army on your side on the battlefield, with your main character/s you have to perform missions and take over or control of certain point of interest or barracks/keep. This will make your army take control of that place and troops will spawn at these locations. It is a very interesting genre but can be overwhelming in the beginning.

So when you start Hyrule Warriors Legends the game takes you through a tutorial to explain some features of this genre and game style however it can feel like too much too fast. Between missions you will have the chance to upgrade your characters and also look at crafting or equipping new weapons. To upgrade characters require items, these you pick up during your missions by defeating enemies, the skills and abilities will do various things like make your character more resistant to a certain element or give them new attack combos.

The graphics of the game looks okay, this type of game requires a lot of processing with all the army units on the map so it can be understood that the graphics is not top notch but I do believe it could have looked a bit better. The dialogues and audio is as you would expect. The gameplay feels good, it will take you a while to get used to the controls completely but I did not experience any jerkiness or lag.

The story is interesting but because some missions can take longer than an hour and there is so much happening all at once, the story can feel a bit disconnected form the gameplay.

Hyrule Warriors Legends is a nice game, straight away it made me think of Dynasty Warriors but with all the characters from The Legend of Zelda. If you like Dynasty Warriors then this will be a great addition to your 3DS system.
