Agent 47 is back in the sixth game of the Hitman Series. This time it was initially released in 2016 digitally and in episodic form with a final physical release only in Jan 2017.
At first my worry was that because of the episodic release some quality would go out the door but luckily this was not the case. The 6 Episodes of the game was released from March 2016 up to October 2016, with only June and July not seeing any release.
Because I’m such a big fan I rather wanted to wait for the final retail release and I am glad I did. I would not have been able to wait for episodes to be released and be limited to what I can play.
Hitman The Complete First Season is Amazing! The prologue is like a prequel to the whole Hitman series and then the main story takes place after the events of Hitman Absolution. The game looks great and plays even better. The controls and game mechanics just work and it shows why Hitman is the best Stealth Third person game series out.
IO Interactive built further on the concept of completing contract in more than one way, now there are about 40 or so challenges for each contract and so many different variants of what you can do. This is not even mentioning the “Live component” of Hitman.
The live component brings new content with DLC. Elusive targets are time limited missions where failure can be permanent for the target not returning. Successful missions will unlock cosmetic rewards. Escalation Contracts are created by IO Interactive to challenge you in a ladder progression style. The contracts mode of Absolution also makes its return and will prove to be just as much fun.
There is so much to do in Hitman and in the end now it doesn’t matter if you buy either the complete first season or episodes separately. They said that all DLC after the release will be free which is very refreshing these days.
Hitman is still amazing and with this release will still be one of my all-time favourite games to play! By far the best Stealth game out and it also offers something for every game style player. I hope IO Interactive keeps this up and bring us some more Agent 47 goodness soon.
