The following entries will be taken during the Geekfest event:

As you all might know GeekFest is at MonteCasino this year, although this is very exciting it does bring some challenges along with it. Seeing as security is tight at casino’s they have warned that no metal weapons will be allowed through security but we have made some plans for you.

  • Meet Kasia at Sylvia’s Night Market on the 30th April to hand in your weapons for GeekFest
  • Meet GES the Friday before GeekFest, this will cost you R10 parking (more details to follow)

Other things to consider with your cosplay weapons:

  • Cap all your wepaons
  • if it can be disassembled, do it
  • the less it look like a weapon you can use the better for the security
  • No Metal Weapons will be allowed on the days of the event through security!

We are looking forward to the Cosplay Contest and hope that the venue change will bring a better GeekFest overall. We want to again bring a great competition and make it enjoyable and unforgettable for everyone! Let us know if there’s any other info that you need and that you couldn’t find in the rulebook. Good luck with your entries and we’re looking forward to seeing you at Geekfest 2017!
