One of the most anticipated PSVR games of the year behind Beat Saber; Firewall bring that Call of Duty/Counter Strike feel to the PSVR with the First person online shooter and it promised to be HUGE!

Straight off the bat; I was very excited for this game. Our first exclusive PSVR title that take advantage of the Aim Controller and the Playstation VR. This game was built from the ground up to accommodate the PSVR, so no weird glitches because motion tracking was whack and so on, and so forth. I was extremely excited to put my headset n for the first time and jump into a 4 v 4 online multiplayer match, this is where all my trouble began.

First of all, there are no server for South Africa, so imagine 250ms to 400ms ping in VR, makes you nauseous. Once I managed to get my ping to a stable 160ms, all seemed okay. Now, the seconds issue, my brother in law was using the aim controller so I had to start off with the normal controller at first, don’t do that, it is a waste of time. A few Hours later and I had my aim controller and I jumped back in. Finally I was ready to jump into a game and do some damage.

I was wrong again. Before I jumped in I played around with my character and load-outs, checked on the different unlockables and noticed an in-game currency, called Cryptos, which later I would come to learn could be earned by doing contracts and/or find them in-game. There was a fair variety of unlockables and a decent amount of choices to customize your gaming experience. (Just a btw, it is a grind)

Finally! Hit that play button and let me crack some skulls. Besides some initial bugs, that were fixed really quick may I add, the game was amazing. Peaking corners and working as a team with random Mexican kids that don’t speak English, great experience OMEGALUL! No, but really, this game is a load of fun and you could spend hour on it if the intense concentration didn’t make your break want to jump out your skull. The mechanics aren’t exactly correct, but they will get there I have no doubt (we are in first gen).

Sound and graphics in this game are extremely important! If you live under a rock and haven’t played FPS titles before, then you’ll need to understand that situational awareness is key to these games and if you are playing on a potato and are using nokia 3310 earbuds, you’ll probably get teabagged faster than a cup of warm water in the Buckingham Palace. So basically what I was trying to say here was, this game nailed it and is probably one of my favourite PSVR FPS games – graphically.

Final Thoughts

Would I buy it? HEALS YEAH! This game has given me hours of entertainment and will continue to for the future and with every update it gets closer to perfection.
