I started playing some of the Fire Emblem series games last year on my 3DS and was quite hooked on them, now on the Nintedo Switch console it is a whole new ball game.
The first thing to note is that this title is a cross-over with the Dynasty Warriors series, as well as the game style is a little different form the previous titles. Instead of a top down Action RPG, now it is a Hack ‘n Slash that plays like Hyrule Warriors.
The story is interesting as always but can also be a lot of reading as with a lot of these games. This game style might also be a bit too busy for a lot of people, but it is the type of genre and how it plays. Tactical and strategic players will find it intriguing trying to do everything and get their players everywhere.
I like how they did the level up system but would’ve preferred to have a more hands on decision on certain things, sometimes you can change the class of the character and this is also great but again would’ve been good to have some more control. This is the way the series is set, and it works but I myself prefer a game where I have more control on how my characters evolve.
The game looks amazing on the Nintendo Switch system and I would encourage you to play it on TV mode as there you can see it in full HD glory. The audio compliments the game and they did add a lot more audio conversation rather than just reading.
Fire Emblem Warriors is a cool game and a great addition to the series, the change in the game style is welcoming and came at the right time with the release on the new Nintendo Switch console.
