Fifa 15 Review

Every year this time we get spoiled with another version of Fifa, this year is no different with Fifa 15 being out and available on all major platforms. Let’s see how it is on the PS4.

When starting Fifa 15 you get thrown into the UEFA final, straight away you can feel the pressure and excitement coming from the crowd. The crowds are more alive and reacts to what is happening in the game, this brings the whole stadium to life and feels as if you are on the field participating in the actual game. After the game you set up your profile and depending on how you played the game will recommend some settings for you. As usual there are tons to do in Fifa 15, the live updates are also done a lot better and now there is a new Matchday Live section, this gives you relevant info upon your choosing which is great for any soccer fan that wants to be kept updated.

The mechanics of the game has also been improved in this engine, the players’ movements are more realistic than ever, you still get some little hiccup here and there but much less than before. The graphics are also improved upon, the players are much more realistic and the dynamics much more in tune. I recognized some of the things they used in UFC that was used in this engine, for instance when a player jumps up and down you can see the clothing interacting with the muscle and body of the player.

This is the first time I tried Fifa Ultimate Team and I have to say that I am very impressed, it adds a new dynamic to the game, the FUT has some new features this time around. You can now Get players on loan for a certain amount of matches and another new feature is the concept team where you have access to the entire library of Fifa 15’s players. You can then basically create your Dream Team which will basically be your goal to where you want to be. FUT is a fun mode where I spent hours just drafting my team, transferring players and trying to get my team’s chemistry the best to what I can.

All the other game modes are there, I like to play career mode. You can choose to play as a player or as a manager, I chose player and created myself to join Juventus. After playing two games I was told by the manager that he is putting me up for loan, I was snatched up by Crotone where I need to build up my experience and improve my abilities to be a better player when I return to Juventus. The career mode feels more involved and realistic than before and I thoroughly enjoy playing this mode. Being a South African, I created my Player to be South African as well. Obviously I was called to the International team for some friendlies and after two games became the key player in the International side. I like how they set up goals for you to accomplish and the news articles are more relevant as well.

The commentary is much improved on and more dynamic as well, you don’t hear the same lines over and over again. I would like to be able to choose different commentators which I think will add even more dynamic to the game. The highlights reel are very entertaining and interesting to see what the game has picked to show. Below I have put together a little showcase of the game and below the video are some screen captures, as you can see it is not easy to get those perfect action shots but was still fun to play with.

Fifa 15 really stepped it up from Fifa 14 and for any fan that wants to have the latest and greatest you definitely have to get it. You can see that EA Sports has done some work to make this a great title release.
