Dead or Alive 5 Last Round Review

Welcome to the martial art tournament of Dead or Alive 5 Last Round – Do you have what it takes to become the greatest fighter in Dead or Alive 5 Last Round? Unleash your true fighting spirit, and become the ultimate fighter known to man kind.

Dead or Alive 5 Last Round comes to the next-gen consoles, bringing with it a new level of gameplay and graphics or what we think it should be for the next-gen consoles. Dead or Alive 5 is an incredible fast pace fighting game with old school basics of crazy amounts of combos that can be used to inflict huge damage to your challenger. Now what is great about this game is that it has an amazing welcoming feeling upon starting the game, so you do not have the stress of mastering difficult character’s movements, just to be able to enjoy the game. It is an extremely easy game to master and has options of different fighters to chose from, so you will spend a crazy amount of hours trying to master all the different fighter’s moves and start to challenge yourself to play on the games hardest mode. But what starts to open up to you is when you start to learn how to use the battle grounds to your advantage as you can use them to inflict more damage to the other fighters.

The Ultimate version of Dead or Alive introduced new characters as DLC, Last Round includes them all form the get go, plus two additional fighters. That’s a total of 34 characters to choose from. There are extra DLC to buy as well e.g. an incredible choice of 27 different costumes and customizable hairstyles.

What I enjoyed most about the game, was the beautifully detailed scenes from around the world, that you fight in. But when I tested it on the Playstation 4, I was under the impression that there would be a huge difference with the graphics. Sorry to be a buzz kill but, there was absolutely no difference at all with the graphics. I felt as if I was still playing on my old Playstation 3. I really think that it would have benefited this game more, if the developers had started the game from scratch and made a totally new Dead or Alive game for the next-gen consoles.

But do not get me wrong as Dead or Alive 5 is really an enjoyable game to play and get into, as there was a difference with the gameplay speed. It was surprisingly smoother on the Playstation 4 compared to the Playstation 3. The controls were pin point accurate with every push of the buttons on the controller, and the fighting system of Dead or Alive 5 is absolutely outstanding with the amount of combos that you can deliver once you have mastered your favourite character’s fighting style, then the real fun begins as you start to unleash the potentials of the game’s fighters.

If some of you are familiar with the Dead or Alive games series or even if you are not, I would recommend that you give Dead or Alive 5 Last Round a look at, for the next gen consoles, as it brought many hours of enjoyable playing for myself, and you should experience this as well, as it is one of the most fast paces fighting game around.

So my closing conclusion to this review is that Dead or Alive 5 Last Round is a bit of a difficult verdict to come to, as it does have it’s pros and cons. Many people may disagree or agree with me on this review, but to be honest I really enjoyed every moment of this game and it is worth adding to your collection of games.
