“Discover a shattered world, forge powerful weapons, and hunt the ferocious behemoths threatening our survival”
Dauntless is a Monster Hunter type game that’s cross-platform to PC, PS4, and XBONE.
Players can use a single account across all platforms and keep their progression.
Dauntless is a faster game compared to MH: W that’s far easier than it as well.
It doesn’t take too much effort to slay the beasts you’re after
Usually around 10-15Minutes per fight including finding the beast on the open area map.
It’s, therefore, a game you can log in to quickly with friends to Slay a beast or two and log off and carry about your day if you wish. You simply pick a weapon and go start slaying monsters, break off pieces of the beasts then return to the capital to forge newer and more powerful gear. You have quite a decent arsenal of weapons including a War Pike, Ostian Repeaters) Dual Pistols, Chain Blades(Think Kratos Style), A Giant Hammer, a Sword as well as An Axe.
Using all the above you can inflict three different types of damage on the beasts.
Slashing, Blunt and Piercing.
Slashing Damage deals increased part damage to unbroken parts of the beasts.
Axes, Chain Blades, Ostian Repeaters and Swords are slashing-type weapons.
Blunt Damage boasts higher base stagger damage used to knock down beasts
Hammers are blunt-type weapons.
Piercing damage once a certain amount of damage has been dealt to the beast piercing damage creates wounds on the beasts that increase incoming damage
War pikes are piercing damage
All Weapons and Armor are created from different types of elements acquired from slaying the beasts
There are Five different elements. Namely Blaze, Shock, Frost, Umbral, and Radiant.
This makes for quite a large array of different types of Weapons and Armor
While the hunts are easier compared to MH: W there are tons of objectives and goals to complete for monster and weapon type.
and there’s even a hunt pass(Basically a battle pass like Fortnite, Apex and Dota 2)
This will cost you an additional $4.99 Just under R80 at the time of writing.
This of course also has a free tier that gives practical rewards as opposed to the sheer amount of cosmetics that the Battle pass gives.
The game launched with the first season being Ninja themed.
(A lot of anime fans will notice some of the animations and summons)
The Game Fully Launched out of Beta on 21st May and is Free to play on the Epic store with a 9GB Download Size.
