A restaurant simulation game that will keep you cooking, Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2 is the sequel to the first game with the same name. The game returns with new things to cook, new restaurants to master and challenging your chef skills on every dish.
As a small restaurant owner, you take on missions at other establishments to get your own place up and running. The main gameplay is where you take on a day at a restaurant and cook dishes to customers that they order. During this you will also get tasked to clean up and sanitise areas. You only have a certain amount of time to complete dishes and tasks and the day also only lasts a certain time. During the day you will also encounter rush periods to put you under extra pressure. You perform actions by pressing the correct button sequences and your score will reflect on how fast you perform the actions and the correctness.
You will experience cuisines from every walk of life; from Indian, to Mexican to delicate French desserts. Each with their own difficulty level and flare for the unknown combinations.
It is a great game to play and has a quick learning curve where the difficulty to achieve medals becomes more difficult quite quickly. On each level you have certain goals to achieve the gold medal status and these can include to achieve a certain number of unhappy customers or to not miss out on more than 5 cleaning duties and so on.
Earning medals opens new levels on restaurants, not so much on the bronze level but definitely on the silver and gold. It can also open a new level on a new restaurant and not particularly the same one. I’m used to playing this type of game on PC and mobile, so it was quite different playing it on a console. It takes some time getting used to the button layout and I would’ve liked it if you could customize the controls to better suit your own playing style.
Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2 lives up to the name and as a sequel to the first one. Players that enjoy this type of game will have hours of fun cooking up a storm and serving people.
