The movie actually revolves around two best friends named George and Harold.
Two fourth grade kids who are too bored with reality and their school, take every opportunity to create a fantasy out of everyday occurrences. School holds no interest but a means to get through the day so they can spend time in their treehouse creating and producing their next issue of a comic about a hero named Captain Underpants.
The pair of imaginative pranksters hypnotize their principal into thinking he’s a superhero named Captain Underpants. Using this unknowing participant to act out their comic book and to get some revenge on the principal for the pains he has put them through. But when a new science teacher turns out to be an evil mastermind determined on ridding the world of laughter. George and Harold rise up, with the help of Captain Underpants to save the world.
Its ultimately child friendly “toilet” humour, I would not say it’s a family movie but rather something to keep kids occupied. The movie also looks and sounds like the start to a franchise with voice acting from comedy heavyweights like Kevin Hart, Ed Helms, Jordan Peele etc. with names like these it does not seem to be just another kids movie with this kind of investment in the film. It’s a fresh addition to the children movie franchises when other franchises seem to be dwindling.
