Toad is back and this time we can enjoy his company on the 3DS and Nintendo Switch. Captain Toad Treasure Tracker bring some crazy puzzling fun for any age.

Yes, another remaster, my Wife enjoyed this game a lot on the Wii U and it was all she played for a while when it initially came out in 2015. Now it was my turn to look at the game and I was quite intrigued playing this puzzle.

I like how the game has a sort of story, but the stages are quick and yet makes your noggin work. The learning curve is great and soon you will face some tricky situations. You can earn three stars per stage by finding them, then you have 3 goals that you can accomplish and some you might have to replay the stage to get them. After you have completed a stage, you are then able to play it searching for the retro Captain Toad character. Once you find him you can just touch the screen and the stage will be complete, sounds simple right? (Insert Evil Laugh)

Visually the game looks about the same and it does look good enough to enjoy with the 3DS version having less smooth graphics because of its now dated hardware. The game has some new levels added themed around the recently released Super Mario Odyssey. The Nintendo Switch version has an added two player Co-op mode to add some awesome couch fun.

Captain Toad Treasure Tracker is a cool puzzle game that old and young will equally enjoy but if you are looking for something deeper then this game will not do. It is nice to play this game on the Switch and 3DS but I fail to see a big reason on why a re-release was done.
