Bayonetta is one of the prominent hack and slash game series on Nintendo consoles and Bayonetta 2 is arguably one of the best games on the Wii U, now you can enjoy these games on your Nintendo Switch gearing up for the release of Bayonetta 3.

Now don’t kill me as I haven’t played any Bayonetta before this, but I was very excited to get to play them now. I started with Bayonetta and quickly started to see what gripped everyone in the series, even though the female protagonist is overly sexualised, there is a strong story with and interesting world that it plays in. The first game was released back in 2009 and even though the game is dated, the remastering they did bring it to new life and still makes it enjoyable to play.

Then I got to Bayonetta 2 where the real fun started, from the get go you can see the improvement that was made into the sequel, it reminded me a lot of the older Final Fantasy games with more emphasis on hacking and slashing rather than RPG elements. Bayonetta 2 was released in 2014 and was exclusive to Nintendo unlike the first game.

As I said above, Bayonetta is an overly sexualised character that oozes sex appeal with all her moves, but it works and even if you are not a teenage boy with crazy hormones the game and story will still draw you in and keep you coming back for more.

This is a fantastic game to have in your library and to have it on your Nintendo switch is even better. You can buy the games separately on the eshop with the first game for about R360 and Bayonetta 2 for about R560.

The gameplay of the games works great with the Nintendo Switch and in no time will you perform combos like a pro and send those angels back to where they belong. It is cool to swap weapons and to try all the different combos on your hands and feet plus then picking up some enemy weapons to cause more destruction.

I will recommend Bayonetta 2 for anyone who hasn’t played the series yet. You can start at the sequel as it is such a great game and you will miss some info form the first game but not too much to spoil the sequel.
