I love action RPG games and I was ecstatic to get an opportunity to review Battle Chasers: Nightwar on Nintendo Switch. The game is based on the comic book series of the same name.
The game received mixed reviews on PC when it was released in October last year. It was mostly criticized for difficulty balances and having to grind a lot. The positives that came out of it was for the visual look and style.
Now the game is available on the Nintendo Switch. There isn’t much of a difference of the two versions and the game looks just as great. Some initial loading times can take a long time but otherwise the game plays great without any glitches. I enjoy the turn-based combat and the way they did traveling across the map and then entering dungeons.
There are some limitations on the growth of the characters, as they level up you unlock set powers or actions and using ability points is point based which kind of works but feels limiting. I would’ve enjoyed unlocking the actions and powers which I prefer and rather have my abilities locked.
The world of Battle Chasers is interesting and one that I enjoyed exploring, I hope that they continue with a series and maybe expand on it as well. The difficulty balance can become a bit irritating and I personally do not enjoy grinding just to complete a story of a game.
Battle Chasers Nightwar is a cool game and action RPG gamers that likes turn-based battle will enjoy it, the game does have its fault but a cool game nonetheless.
