Want to be the next Van Gogh, maybe Michelangelo or even the next Da Vinci or maybe you just want to have fun drawing; well then, this game is for you.

Art Academy was created as an art learning simulator for anyone who wants to learn how to draw, paint or sketch. You are able to use the game to practice on the Wii U gamepad or use it as a guide to draw in real life. Art academy is not a true game per se but it does have some sort of level up routine. As you accomplish each sketch you will unlock a new section which will lead to more difficult tasks.

Vince is your guide and he will assist you in all your different challenges. You have 2 modes, lesson mode and free paint mode. In lesson mode Vince will teach you how to draw from scratch, how to draw perfect lines and capture wonderful contrasts. He will also teach you which tools to use for which drawings, what kind of angle to use the tools with to get the right contrast of color.

In free paint mode you can draw and paint what ever you heart desires and you can experiment with the different tools to see how they work.

The great thing is that the game has every painter’s tool that you require, Vince will also teach you in lessons how to get a gloss effect or how to smudge. As I said above these tricks and tips can be transferred to real life art and can teach any aspiring artist some valuable lessons. For those who just wish to do it for fun it is great and you will get all the fundamentals necessary.

Most of the times the drawing you need to copy will show on the TV and the screen on the Wii U gamepad is your canvas. This game will not appeal to everyone but is definitely interesting and can be fun for those who love art.
