Anno 1800 is back with its first big DLC, Sunken Treasures. Sunken Treasures take us onto a new adventure where loot and booty await.
If you are completely new to Anno 1800 or the Anno series, then read my review of Anno 1800 here. With the release of the Sunken Treasures DLC also came the game update 4. A lot of fixed has been made and some game improvements as well. You will now be able to zoom out further, giving you a more overlooking view. A vast number of other changes, improvements and fixes make for a much more solid game and just in time for the DLC.
You can play Sunken Treasures on any saved game and in order to start the new journey you need to at least have 700 Artisan Citizens. Once you have this, you will get notified that the Queen has gone missing. A new expedition will become available to search for the Queen. Upon finding her you will unlock the new region, Cape Trelawney, this region has some big islands but the main one that you will settle on is gigantic.
The Queen will assign you quests to look for a long-lost sceptre. Old Nate, a neutral trader in the region gives you a diving bell ship, which you can use to dive for treasures at special locations. You will need this ship to find the sceptre for the Queen but while building up to that moment you will make use of the diving ship to find a ton of other treasures. Old Nate will also transmute some items for you, at a price of course, which you can equip onto your ship to enhance its abilities.
This new region offers so much more and adds a tone of gameplay to the game. There are other new items also added for the DLC and the new crafting system by Old Nate adds a whole new element to the game.I thoroughly enjoyed the DLC and it has eaten away ample of hours to play this and I’m still enjoying it. I hope the next two DLC will add just as much content to the game to enjoy!
