The new HV620S external drive uses USB 3.1 technology for better speed transfers on high capacity drives up to 4TB in size.

The Adata HV620S external drive looks sleek with the new mirror finish cover with a raised-lip to prevent scratches on the finish. It also has a slim profile of 11,5mm to create for an even smaller drive to carry around.

I received the 2TB drive and my goal was slightly different than to just use it as an external. I recently got a new PS4 Slim console to replace my original PS4. The goal was to replace the new PS4 slim’s standard 500GB HDD with this 2TB HDD. The reason is simple, my current PS4 has a 1TB HDD and also an external 1TB HDD making the total space 2TB.

Swapping the HDD out on the PS4 Slim is very easy as you can see in my video below. All you need afterwards is the PS4 System software on a USB flash and the instructions on how to do it can be found here.

Now my new PS4 Slim is up and running with the 2TB HDD and is performing extremely well. The new low-profile HDD used in the HV620S causes less heat in the PS4 system and comparing it to my old PS4 with the 1TB HDD it is downloading better, copying faster and all-round just better performance. Now you can say but this has to do with the two hardware models as well which is true but the small things like copying media to USB or installing from disc is a lot better with the new 2TB HDD than the original. So in my opinion swapping out the drive with a 2TB drives is a bonus all the way.

The Adata HV620S is a cool and sleek external HDD and a bonus is that you can also use it to swap out the drive on your current PS4, if your answer is but why don’t you just buy an internal drive for that then my answer back will be, cause then you will not have an external casing to put the old HDD in to use as additional storage ;p
