Aimed to be one of the most powerful gaming laptops, the Predator Helios 700 makes it mark and tries to rule the nest. Read on to see how this laptop performs and what we think of this new beast.

When opening up the Acer Predator Helios 700 hundred the words that run through your head is wow and this is big. The laptop itself is huge and comes in at a whopping 4.5kg, the power supply is also bulky and huge but for the performance this machine has built-in you can expect it. Keep in mind as well that this gaming laptop is intended to be used for LANs and tournaments, so it has to be mobile but also has to be a beast.

The laptop boasts a Core i9 processor with 64GB RAM, a GeForce RTX 2080 graphics card, 2x 512GB SSDs and a 2TB SATA HDD. This alone should get your heart racing never mind the other cool things like the RGB keyboard and the keyboard panel that can shift down to create better cooling and comfort for playing. The only downside here is that the screen is only Full HD, with monster specs like these you can easily run 4K and even possible 8K. The screen is IPS but you can’t help to feel that they missed an opportunity by not putting in a 4K screen.

The price is a bit hefty being at about R42k and compared to similar devices it is not to far off but for the price, or a little more, I would have liked a 4K screen. There are tons of connectors as well, 1 USB 2.0, 2 USB 3, HDMI, DisplayPort and Thunderbolt.

Below are some specs of the Acer Predator Helios 700:

I enjoyed playing around with this laptop and things were super-fast, with the huge SSD drives you can easily install games on them and achieve even better performance on them. The biggest downside is the screen and the weight with the power supply other than those this is a proper beast of a rig.
