Likes:The fact that you can learn and play 30 years of WrestleMania
Dislikes:Bit of a learning curve when first starting out and some text glitches.
As the music blare and fire works go off I strut out on to the podium, know that any minute now I’m taking the Undertaker down……well he is the undertaker so I don’t know how far down I can go with him! Welcome to WWE 2K14!!!!
Now the last time I actually played WWE was on the old 8-bit golden china machine! And I can definitively say that there was some mayor improvements since then(yes I know that was 8-bit!). Anycase, this version of the game comes with a truck load of WWE Stars, from the late 80’s up to 2000’s it’s the singles biggest roster of wrestlers assembled. They also added new moves, revamped the player navigation system and added a new reversal system to the game. There is also a new game mode called; 20 Years of WrestleMania, which gives you access to 45 of the greatest moments in WWE history.
I took a crack at this mode first, it is an single player campaign (but it also helps you unlock wrestlers for the rest of the game). It took me a while to get used to the control structure and playing around in the menu’s but got it finally right to take Andre down. The one thing that I noted was that there seem to be a text glitch when you want to make sure who you fighting, for some strange reason it called Hulk Hogan, Andre and Andre, Hulk Hogan. If you want to expand on what you already have then you can buy the season pass, this includes not 1, not 2 but 3 DLC packs with extra Wrestlers and Alternative costumes. There is also 2 Free Wrestlers that you can get if you don’t want to fork out the cash for the microsoft/psn store credits to get the season pass.Overall I am really happy with the game. The guys over at 2K Sports really put a lot of effort in the game and it shows(especially on current gen hardware). The graphics looks superb and audio matches up to each action that you do in the game, they mimic how the really wrestlers enter and I think they get it spot on. Soundtrack wise they have looks to me(and correct me if I am wrong) all of the wrestlers theme songs. I would suggest this game for all sports games fan’s and most of all WWE fans. This your local Mad Scientist signing out……
