We look at: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild DLC 1

Have you considered buying the Expansion pass for Breath of the Wild but not sure if you should? Then read on and we will tell you on what you will get.

By now everyone with a Nintendo Switch should have played The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, if you haven’t just read our review here.

So now that the formalities are over let’s get down to the gritty, when you buy the expansion pass, you will get 2 DLC packs and some extra Treasure chests.

Expansion Pass Bonus

In the Great Plateau three additional treasure chests will appear, one of these chests will contain a shirt with the Nintendo Switch logo on it. This is a great little niche item and a nice way of just promoting the game and console.

DLC pack 1

The first DLC pack includes the Trial of the Sword, Master Mode, Hero’s Path Mode, the travel medallion, and new armor and is available now.

  • Trial of the Sword – At a secret location you will be able to take on this new challenge. Face tons of enemies, wave after wave. You start the challenge without anything. After 45 rounds/waves the Master Sword will be yours!
  • Master Mode – Enemies regain health so be sure to defeat them when you can, enemies are one level higher in difficulty and they have a higher maximum difficulty level. Also look up in the sky, treasures and enemies might be floating about.
  • Hero’s Path Mode – When enabled it shows the path Link has walked for the last 200 hours, now you can see where those roads less travelled are.
  • Travel Medallion – Somewhere you will find this nifty gadget in a chest. You can register one location at a time to make it a fast travel location.
  • New Armor – Some great new armor to collect. Phantom armor set, Tingle’s Outfit, Midna’s Helmet and Majora’s Mask are just some cool new items to collect.

DLC pack 2

The second DLC pack will include a new original story, some new challenges and a new dungeon.

The Expansion pass adds some great features and I cannot wait for the extra story to play, the game already has so much to explore and adding these extras just gives the game so much more value.
