LOVE

Enjoyable movie that delivers on comedy and romance with it being forced or generic.

Modern Rom-Com that plays out like an 80/90s sitcom but could also have easily been the making for a horror movie plot, as 2 strangers are trapped a small bachelor apartment for 48 hours with very little food and a nonfunctioning toilet.

The Synopsis
A no-strings-attached, online hook-up turns into a morning-after disaster for twenty-something New Yorkers Megan (Analeigh Tipton) and Alec (Miles Teller). When a paralyzing blizzard hits the city trapping them in Alec’s cramped Brooklyn apartment.

The Review
I found the movie a refreshing take on a tired rom-com genre of “boy meets girl”, its unconventional and interesting. The characters are throw into a situation that can only lead to unpredictable comedic events in order to survive the cold and themselves. Alec drives the movie while Meagan keeps them grounded so it does not spin out into one of those ridiculous rom-coms.

Enjoyable movie that delivers on comedy and romance with it being forced or generic.

Likes

  • Not an over the top romantic comedy with meaningless conversation. Surprisingly funny and charming.
  • Good performances from Miles Teller and Analeigh Tipton

Dislikes

  • It eventually devolves into a cliché ROM-COM with the usual plot twists and leading guy embarrassing himself in public “to get the girl” at the last minute.
