With just about a month to go till the doors to rAge Expo 2016 open to the public, the online entries for this the GES rAge Cosplay Contest 2016 closed on Tuesday 27 September 2016! This was the only way to enter the contest and NO entries will be accepted later than this date. No entries can be submitted during the actual rAge Expo, due to the amount of pre-contest admin that goes into organizing a contest of this nature.

There is a comprehensive rules booklet available for download here but this is a brief reminder of some of the most important things to remember whilst prepping for the Cosplay Contest:

  1. You cannot enter a cosplay that has placed in any of the GES Cosplay Contests in the last year (rAge Expo 2016, GeekFest 2016 and The Mall Cosplay Experience 2016)
  2. Please ensure that you send us proper reference pics for your cosplay, preferably showing the cosplay from all angles. Feel free to submit more than one link to a reference pic that represents your cosplay the best
  3. Please be aware that 3D printing/moulding is regarded to be commissioned work and may therefore not make-up more than 25% of your costume. Any finishing done by yourself on the final product will be acceptable though and Cosplayers will have to specify any such work on their entry form. Check out FairyFountains’ Facebook post re what this new rule means for your 3D commissioned prop

About Linda Jager

Linda Jager
I’m proudly Geek and have a passion for all things pop-culture. Huge fan of The Walking Dead. Lover of gadgets and technology and although I’m not a gamer (sadly no hand-eye co-ordination) I find myself drawn to the gaming culture and community and how it connects with one of my biggest passions – collecting action figures and statues. I love to watch movies and series and there’s nothing better than having conversations with other people about the things I feel so passionately about. Being an 80’s child I am a huge fan of retro stuff and my Thundercats collection is one of my most prized possessions. That, and my A-Team van. Follow me on Twitter @LindaAtGES
