It’s time again to take control of your civilization and lead them to greatness, Civilization VI is here with a few tweaks and changes.

Civilization has always been a forerunner in the Turn-based strategy genre and they keep on improving in the game while keeping the stabilization of the base. The same team that worked on the expansions of Civilization V worked on number VI, and improvement they did there made it to the base game this time around.

They shifted away from being forced on what improvements to build in your cities, now you build different types districts on terrain tiles giving extra bonuses to them depending on where you place them, this also goes across to Wonders where you will place them in a city tile to build. The Research and Culture improvements trees has also been improved, this also allows for a better Government Civics structure especially if you opt to go for one of these victory paths. You can also now boost research by achieving some goals. When boosted, you will get a Eureka moment and it will complete the research by 50%, this can give you huge advantages throughout the game.

The Religion path and structure is still a bit weak in my opinion but it is something they can work on for future versions. Some improvements were made on AI players as well where they will now have secret agendas and have more variety on different nations.

The new games engine allows for day/night cycles and camera rotation. Builders now complete jobs instantly but they have a limited number of times they can be used before they disappear. Roads are built automatically via trade routes and Barbarians are more organised than ever.

There are tons of improvements made which makes Civilization VI a much richer game, there are 19 Civilizations to choose form but the Aztec is only available for Pre-order customers for the first 90 days of launch, after that it will be freely available for everyone via DLC. Each Civilizations has its own bonuses for you to consider choosing them, some also have a slight advantage towards certain win goals.

Fireaxis games has yet again brought us a stable and rich Civilization game, giving us things that we love and improving on the system. One of the must have games in the turn-based strategic genre games.
