Sapiens is a prehistoric tile placement game working with the mechanics of dominoes. You as the leader of your tribe need to guide them through the valley in search of food and shelter.

The game is easy to grasp and the instructions included will get you playing in no time. Each player has their own unique valley board that they use to traverse with their tribe. You travel through the valley by placing play tiles on the valley. Each tile has two scenes on them so to place another tile next to it the scenes needs to match, by doing this you earn food points and scene bonuses will also come into play. Playing certain scenes and reaching caves will earn you shelter points and you might also get a mountain tile giving you the ability to play some bonuses when you want to.

The points you gather will count as moves on the main board to move your food and shelter marker respectively. When all the play tiles have been depleted the game is over. The top marker of everyone’s tribe gets removed from the main board. The markers that are left determine the winner, the winner will be the tribe whose left over marker has reached the closest to 40.

There are ways you can affect other player’s tribe by either placing a Bear tile in their valley or placing a special bonus tile on one of their playing tiles. Each game will take about 45 minutes depending on the thought that goes into a move J
