Overwatch Beta Overview – Escort PvP Match

Overwatch is Blizzard’s Online Multiplayer FPS set in quite a futuristic world with very relatable heroes, who after the disbanding of a special task force that was created to maintain peace, still fight to preserve the values set out by the original Overwatch.

As promised in the Introduction Overview Article (found here if you want to read it) I play a PvP match against other beta testers from around the globe. Finding a match and joining in, is almost immediate, with wait times averaging around 15 seconds at the moment in the beta environment! You can easily deduce that this will be even shorter once the final release is available on the 24th of May this year!

The game mode that I was randomly thrown into was a “Escort” mode. Take a look at the video below to see how it works. Watch me PWN like a “BAWS”!

What is the “Escort Mode”?

I am glad you asked! Escort (Payload) is a Game Mode in which the Attacking and Defending teams must escort a payload to the end of the map. The attacking team’s objective is to move the payload to a delivery point, while the defenders must halt the attackers’ progress until time runs out. It is insanely fun, and it is very important to have at least one tank, a healer or two and top DPS rollers to make an effective team!

In the video, my team attacks first, and I play a tank! When we defend, I play DPS. Check it out it is delicious!

Should you Pre-Order Overwatch?

If you enjoy games like Borderlands and Modern Warfare and you enjoyed playing games like Unreal Tournament, then this is definitely a must have title for you. If you enjoy games like Counter-Strike…reroll, this game will change your life. It is fast paced and tests your strategic ability to work together as a team. I am looking forward to the final release!

About Mirage

I pretty much started gaming on Famicom! For those who didnt survive the flood on the ark with Noah, this was an 1980’s 8-bit console using interchangeable cartridges. (Google it, it will blow your mind!). From there things got a bit more hardcore, and I started playing DOS-Based games, (Again…google is your friend.) and that progressed through Windows 3.1, until the present where I enjoy intense graphics, captivating story-lines, alternate endings and mind-numbing grinds on both PS3 and Windows PC. When I’m not gaming, I am a club DJ that enjoys playing House, Progressive, Trance, Tech and Minimal. I love watching Anime, my favorite shows are Naruto and Bleach. Epic, I know.
