Inferno Lan and Expo

Header infoComing soon to the shores of KZN for 3 glorious days will be The Inferno LAN and Expo 2014,This event will be the first of an annual and exciting event planned for Durban and the surrounding areas.

This event will naturally consist of a LAN (local area network) able to accommodate a minimum of 2000 gamers. A furnace of adrenalin-filled gaming, in the form of a 48 hour BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) LAN, promises to become the largest gaming event in South Africa. You can expect prizes, competitions and entertainment even when you’re not gaming.

The Inferno Expo and indoor exhibition will provide guests with the latest in gaming and digital lifestyle, with guest areas to relax, sponsor areas with many promotions and a variety of food stalls, as well as catering for families and children since we hope to target a wider market than just our tech and game enthusiasts.

Event announcements and competitions will be run internally while screens will broadcast the LAN and outdoor exhibitions so you don’t miss out on anything.

This inaugural event organized by Nerd Herd will be held annually and they have promised it to be the ultimate gaming experience in which gamers will have an opportunity to take part in mental as well as physical combat. Personally I am excited that something like this is happening in my hometown, Durban and hope it will encourage other Con’s and Expo’s to be hosted in Durban.

The event will have a LAN and impressive 260 exhibitor stalls but the expo also has an outdoor area offering attendees unique contests and exhibitions such as:

The paintball arena (in keeping with the gaming theme these will be based on well-known PC/Console Game map to be revealed at the Expo),

The Infernobots Arena (were contestants can enter their robots in different weight classes to take part in several rounds of obstacles and combat)

X-treme Motorsport Shows featuring spectacular stunts mixed with ramps, walls and other insane obstacles.

The event sounds spectacular and would be worth attending, I am looking forward to attending this event. Organizers expect a minimum of 2000 gamers to take part over the 3 days.
