A very cute and exciting side scroll action game every-one should give a chance.
The story is that you are an explorer and your ship has crash landed. You play as Mr. Olimar and as you progress through the different stages of the game the game you will meet all the different pikmin.
You are required to collect sparkilium, which will fuel your ship and allow your guide to make repairs.
By meeting different Pikmin, you will also be introduced to their enemies and boy, are there many. As you meet the Pikmin in your different stages you rescue them as well, that said try not to kill any of them if it is possible because you have some challenges that require you to have many Pikmin follow you. Oh, right – I forgot to mention that the Pikmin are your defence system against enemies and to clear your path to reach new areas. They also serve as an aid to obtain treasures on some of those hard to reach places.
The different Pikmin have different abilities – the red ones can handle fire and the yellow ones can handle electricity; etcetera. I don’t want to spoil your meet and greet. These little guys are awesome and they respond to a whistle which will be one of the items on your usage list along with your jet pack which you only get a little later and no it does not fly very high, the jet pack is only there to aid you in crossing short gaps.
At the top you will see how many Pikmin you have collected and also how many have either gotten lost or are stuck, which means you will have to back track just a bit to find them. On some stages you collect different Pikmin and you can swap between them depending on the use they provide.
Take note that you do need to explore your areas well because sometime you cannot go back, meaning you will have to replay the stage to be able to collect all your treasures.
If you think strategically then this game will only be fun and no work at all, if you like puzzles then this will be for you too. I am currently still playing and am enjoying every minute of it, taking into account that I should be studying. LOL
Go grab your copy of Hey! Pikmin now and get your treasure hunt on.
