The Nintendo Switch took the world by storm when it was released and although it lacked some release titles, it has a steady release of new games throughout the year and for June that is Arms.

Arms is a new fighting game developed specifically for the Switch. What makes this fighter different is the different ways you can play it and that each fighter has extendable arms. Yes, extendable arms is the profound game changer in arms ;p, below I will give some more detail on this strange gameplay.

As the name implies arms is the most important asset in this game, each fighter has extendable arms to fight with, fists can be changed into various kinds like boomerangs, triplebolt, hammer fist and so much more. Each fighter starts with 3 different kinds of fists which you can choose and you can unlock more with fight money. The cool thing is that you can have different fists on each arm and this is where some strategy comes into play but not too much as the game is designed for fun.

One of the biggest selling points of the Nintendo Switch is the different kinds of ways you can play and Arms supports them all, you can choose to play the game with a controller and buttons or the fun way, using one joy con per fist. The best way to play arms is using the joy cons as your fists, punching your way to victory, but it is not just about punching straight, your extendable arms can twist and turn. Practise those hooks and tricky twist punches to become a master in arms.

There are a few different game modes in Arms, Grand Prix, versus, online and co-op. In grand Prix you alone, or along with a friend, battle 10 fighters to become the Grand Prix champion earning fight money as you play. There are some cool mini modes as well like, hoops, volleyball and target mode, these add some extra fun.

The game is very cool and fun, it does have some limitations but you have to take the game for what it is. A great party game to add to your collection!
